About Daniel Chu, MD, FACC
Daniel J. Chu, MD, is a Southern California native and an interventional cardiologist specializing in coronary, structural heart, and peripheral vascular interventions. He completed his internal medicine residency at Baylor College of Medicine, followed by advanced fellowship training in cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, structural heart disease, and peripheral endovascular interventions at UC San Diego.
Dr. Chu has broad clinical expertise in preventive cardiology, complex coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, peripheral vascular disease, and the use of advanced heart-support devices for critically ill patients. He performs a wide range of minimally invasive cardiovascular procedures, including coronary angiography, coronary angioplasty and stent placement, peripheral arterial angiography and intervention, transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), and transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER) for mitral and tricuspid valve disease.
Dr. Chu believes that exceptional medical care begins with mutual respect, communication, and a clear understanding of each patient’s goals and concerns. He combines evidence-based medicine with a highly individualized approach to develop personalized treatment plans for each patient. He particularly values the long-term relationships that develop in medicine and enjoys caring for patients across the full spectrum of cardiovascular health, from prevention and medical management to advanced cardiovascular procedures when needed.
