Robert W. Orr, MD, FACC, FHFSA

 

Originally from New York City after finishing medical school, I did my residency at New York Medical College- Cabrini Medical Center with additional training at Bellevue Hospital. After completing my residency in Internal Medicine, I did my Cardiovascular fellowship at SUNY- Buffalo. I became an instructor of clinical medicine there and was on the National Strategic Planning Committee for the American College of Cardiology. I moved to New England where I was in practice in New Hampshire and Boston and was Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Boston University. I eventually relocated to San Diego where I have been for over 20 years.  I have served as Chief of Cardiology and Chief of Cath Lab at various institutions as well as Chief of Staff. I am director of Critical Care and Cardiology services in the arctic of Alaska and spend a week or so each month flying to remote eskimo villages taking care of the native population. I hold Heart Failure Certification and am a Fellow of the Heart Failure Society of America.  I have been a medical correspondent for many different television stations across the country and have filmed multiple documentaries.
